Abstract

A flap is a transposition of tissue with its blood supply to different parts of the body. It is done to cover important structures such as joints, bones, tendons and blood vessels. it brings blood supply that brings nutrition, immune response, antibiotics and cells that is important for healing. This lecture elicit the example of how the flap is done to cover wounds, treat infection and promote fracture healing.
